One of these hot weekends, we were looking for some exciting family activity (besides, loitering around in the malls!) and that’s when I spotted a new cool fun space in the city!

This new Space is called “Phobia”, which is located at the ground level of Cluster X, Jumeirah Lakes Towers. The place offers the most amazing and thrilling experience of a real life “escape” situation, where you have 60 minutes to solve the mystery and unlock the escape room.

Phobia offers four escape rooms (as seen in the picture above), which include:

  1. Sherlock;
  2. Museum;
  3. Vault; and
  4. Live

A team of 2-5 people (age 8 Year upwards),  are locked in a chosen escape room for 60 minutes. The room of course has hidden clues, questions and props for helping the team solve the mystery in hand. We chose Sherlock, where we were given the task of acting as Sherlock’s friend and we had 60 minutes to find out the criminal and the crime scene.

I must say, going there with my husband and 8 year old was actually a fantastic idea, as it turned out that this mystery room was a complete family activity. We all were solving clues and puzzles and helping each other. The props looked very real and the room actually looked as if we were teleported to Sherlock’s office! Our little one was quite thrilled to be a part of the game, although initially, he thought, we were supposed to escape and save our lives from a killer!! however, when he understood what we were really supposed to do it became a fun real life video game for him. I would also like to mention that the puzzle and the mystery is not easy at all and its definitely a very good brain stimulating experience. In all, if one is looking for some adrenaline rush, brain stimulation and some thrill and above all an activity where the whole family can participate, then Phobia is definitely your place! There are loads of possibilities in Phobia- keeping your teenage kids and their friends busy for an hour, throwing a birthday party for kids or simply having a fun day out with your friends, Phobia is a place for everyone:)

I would be going back to the remaining escape rooms soon! What are you waiting for? book an appointment today!

P.S. The above opinions are our honest opinions about the services and products that we review.

Hi! I am a Corporate and Commercial Lawyer managing my own small practice and working with some fairly big businesses in UAE. In June 2015, I decided to start my blog and that’s when “Katz and Kurlz” was born.

I researched and designed my own website initially (and later with some professional help), struggled to use Instagram, learning from all the beautiful existing bloggers, taking inspiration from their posts, I finally managed to come from a 100 odd followers to about 90K+ as of today. My followers are of all ages and demographics, but among them, I have a lot of young men, women and mothers.

I find blogging therapeutic and relaxing and I see it as my first step towards all those dreams and milestones that I have planned. In a world full of “only magazine glossy” images featuring on blogs, I believe in sharing everyday snippets and glimpses from my life.

Primarily a fashion and beauty blogger, I have worked with some prominent makeup brands. Apart from fashion and beauty, I have also worked with various food and beverage brands, have also covered mother and child events, services and products.

I also manage a magazine htpp:// where me and my fellow muddleheads share what is close to our heart!
