SUSHI EXPRESS CAFE – THE LITTLE NEIGHBOURHOOD EATERY

On the nights when one just wants to take a walk in the Neighbour hood and stop by the lake to have a light delicious dinner… sounds surreal? That’s Jumeirah Lakes Towers!

Nestled in Cluster R is this small eatery serving yummy sushi at a very affordable price! We had the privilege of trying the place about a month back amd it was a fairly good experience for the three of us (my husband and little one as well:)).

The place serves a range of soups, salads, maki rolls, sashimi & nigiri, noodles, temaki sushi, platters,  grilled options and of course desserts! The outlet at JLT is relatively small and at the time when we went there, had two servers. So, service was not as fast as one would expect, but the food was fairly good!

Theres no dearth of vegetarian options (I’m a vegetarian!) and we ordered a mix of veggie and non- veg maki, rice, potato croquettes, miso soup and vanilla ice cream for the dessert.

For our little one, they brought separate kids cutlery , which was definitely a welcome sign and made his day! All the things that we ordered were flavourful, fresh, had the right mix of ingredients and the presentation was fairly decent.

Talking about ambience, they have bright orange furniture and they have a boundary of artificial tall bamboo plants outside the restaurant (to barricade and create their own private space. The restaurant is well lot with beautiful tiny fairy lights.

If you are looking for a fine dining sushi experience, then perhaps this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a neighborhood eatery, reasonably priced and serving good food, then Sushi Express is definitely a place you should visit.

They have some interesting dessert options which we haven’t seen elsewhere as yet and include:

Macha Tiramisu, Macha Cheesecake, Avocado Brûlée and Mochi Cream. The desserts are a must try and I would give 8/10 for the desserts!

Overall, our experience at Sushi Express Cafe was fairly good and we would definitely go back to this place-not just only while taking a long walk by the lake, but I guess it’s a nice place for an afternoon lunch with friends and family. Definitely recommended !

Our Verdict:

Ambience and Decor: * * 1/2

Quality of Service: * * 1/2

Presentation: * * *

Food Quality and Taste: * * * 1/2

See you soon!

Hi! I am a Corporate and Commercial Lawyer managing my own small practice and working with some fairly big businesses in UAE. In June 2015, I decided to start my blog and that’s when “Katz and Kurlz” was born.

I researched and designed my own website initially (and later with some professional help), struggled to use Instagram, learning from all the beautiful existing bloggers, taking inspiration from their posts, I finally managed to come from a 100 odd followers to about 90K+ as of today. My followers are of all ages and demographics, but among them, I have a lot of young men, women and mothers.

I find blogging therapeutic and relaxing and I see it as my first step towards all those dreams and milestones that I have planned. In a world full of “only magazine glossy” images featuring on blogs, I believe in sharing everyday snippets and glimpses from my life.

Primarily a fashion and beauty blogger, I have worked with some prominent makeup brands. Apart from fashion and beauty, I have also worked with various food and beverage brands, have also covered mother and child events, services and products.

I also manage a magazine htpp://www.salaamlife.com/ where me and my fellow muddleheads share what is close to our heart!
