I have been to a lot of beauty salons and have experienced different services. However, my recent experience at Zuri Beauty Lounge, located at The Mall in Jumeirah (right opposite Jumeirah Beach Hotel) was undoubtedly one of the best.

I went there to get a good hairstyle and a facial and I must say their service levels are much better than any other salon.

Like every other salon, I was welcomed with a smile, offered a green tea/water/coffee/juice, was taken into a beautifully decorated zen room, they also used organic skincare products , but it’s not all these things that makes them stand apart. It is the precision, time and effort that their staff used which really gives them an edge.

Beginning with my facial, I have an oily acne prone dull uneven skin. The girl who was doing my facial understood these problems and suggested that we do a deep pore cleansing facial. During the facial, while doing the extraction of my white heads and pimples, she spent additional time and removed all the pimple heads and white heads. Of course, they left a mark, which is usual, but she removed all those sources and points, which kept breaking out again and again at the same place. She then applied a mask to soothe the redness and finally a skin tightening mask.

On the day of the facial, of course, I didn’t see much of a difference, but the effects were visible from the next day, when I realized that the bumps were actually flat now! I was super impressed by her work. She also suggested that with my kind of skin, I need a facial/cleansing every 15 days as my skin breaks out because of dust, humidity or even dryness.

After the facial, it was time for a hairstyle and since I had two events that day, I wanted something that would stay with me until evening without any efforts. Lovely Sue who was my hairstylist understood this extremely well and also realized that my hair are between straight and wavy and to hold a hairstyle, one needs to put in some extra effort.

Sue decided to give me waves, but used a heated rod, rollers and hairspray to ensure that my waves stay with me till the end. The results? The waves stayed with me until the next day!! And the amount of compliments I received that day are evidence enough of Sue’s wonderful work:):)

I am highly impressed with the salon and would definitely recommend to use their services. Btw, the name Zuri is the owner’s daughter’s name, isn’t it cute!

The salon fairs good on ambience, cleanliness, staff appearance, and service. So, next time if you are thinking of booking a salon appointment, do try Zuri Beauty Lounge!

Here are a few pictures of the salon and of course how I looked after my visit:)

Hi! I am a Corporate and Commercial Lawyer managing my own small practice and working with some fairly big businesses in UAE. In June 2015, I decided to start my blog and that’s when “Katz and Kurlz” was born.

I researched and designed my own website initially (and later with some professional help), struggled to use Instagram, learning from all the beautiful existing bloggers, taking inspiration from their posts, I finally managed to come from a 100 odd followers to about 90K+ as of today. My followers are of all ages and demographics, but among them, I have a lot of young men, women and mothers.

I find blogging therapeutic and relaxing and I see it as my first step towards all those dreams and milestones that I have planned. In a world full of “only magazine glossy” images featuring on blogs, I believe in sharing everyday snippets and glimpses from my life.

Primarily a fashion and beauty blogger, I have worked with some prominent makeup brands. Apart from fashion and beauty, I have also worked with various food and beverage brands, have also covered mother and child events, services and products.

I also manage a magazine htpp:// where me and my fellow muddleheads share what is close to our heart!
