When I practiced as a lawyer in India, work attire meant a crisp white shirt, black trousers and a black after day, every single day!!

When we moved to Dubai, I began my  journey as an in house counsel for an investment house and work attire was still pretty regular. However, I always felt that one must feel good about oneself while at work but sometimes that “feel good” factor is killed by the rules of the corporate dressing. You cant wear this colour or this skirt or this top or this that. My simple rule- Just feel good and look good without going overboard when it comes to necklines, shoulders and length of the skirt.

So, the other day I had a usual day at work with meetings, deadlines and so on and I wore what I had been wanting to wear since long.

My Black maxi dress with a paisley print blouse from Massimo Dutti.

More Massimo Dutti Blouses here. Some similar blouses here.

I topped up the look with my Massimo Dutti Necklace and my colourful beaded bracelets (picked up from India and mixed and matched together).

I somehow felt really relaxed in this outfit and trust me, I was loaded with compliments from my workmates:)

You can also see my small balcony garden:)

My nude pumps and the best part about them- the heels are not too high and they a re pretty comfortable. Anyway, Once at work, I take off my heels and put on my flats and the heels come back only when I meet a client or go out of the office. I believe comfort is a very big part of the “feel good and look good” lay out.

Do let me know if you like this unconventional work outfit. would you wear something like this to work?

More necklaces and bracelets here and here.

More maxi skirts here.

Hi! I am a Corporate and Commercial Lawyer managing my own small practice and working with some fairly big businesses in UAE. In June 2015, I decided to start my blog and that’s when “Katz and Kurlz” was born.

I researched and designed my own website initially (and later with some professional help), struggled to use Instagram, learning from all the beautiful existing bloggers, taking inspiration from their posts, I finally managed to come from a 100 odd followers to about 90K+ as of today. My followers are of all ages and demographics, but among them, I have a lot of young men, women and mothers.

I find blogging therapeutic and relaxing and I see it as my first step towards all those dreams and milestones that I have planned. In a world full of “only magazine glossy” images featuring on blogs, I believe in sharing everyday snippets and glimpses from my life.

Primarily a fashion and beauty blogger, I have worked with some prominent makeup brands. Apart from fashion and beauty, I have also worked with various food and beverage brands, have also covered mother and child events, services and products.

I also manage a magazine htpp:// where me and my fellow muddleheads share what is close to our heart!
